Con Recap: BGN @ Salt Lake Comic Con

Last month, Black Girl Nerds were invited guests to the Salt Lake Comic Con. I’ve heard a lot about this convention over the last few years due to it’s awesome Star Wars content.

From our initial invitation, the SLCC staff was super accommodating to myself, Melissa and Kay-B. They were not only interested in us guesting on panels related to our various passions, but also invited us to pitch panels relating to our interests.

The BGN team appeared together on a Fangirl Chat panel, that is now live on the BGN Podcast, as well as the Things You’ve Got to Stop Saying panel moderated by the wonderful Debra Jenson.

Melissa and I were also on a Star Wars panel celebrating Luke and Leia. Titled Twin Journeys, the panel was moderated by Bryan Young and had special guests Matt Martin and Vanessa Marshall from Rebels. This panel can be found at Bryan’s site Full of Sith. I also had plenty of chances to attend some awesome Star Wars themed panels and the charity event Worldbuilders.

Enjoy these photos of our panels and fan encounters courtesy of my friend in the Force Brian Sims.

Special thanks to Brian Young, James Floyd Ryan Call, Debra Jenson and the welcoming community of fans at Salt Lake Comic Con. An amazing experience overall. I can’t wait to attend again.
